Stewardship is a word that describes the lifestyle of anyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus.

Jesus summed up stewardship when asked "Which is the greatest commandment?".  His response was, "The first in importance is: 'Listen, the Lord your God is one, so love the Lord God with all you passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.'  And here is the second, 'Love others as you love yourself.'  There is no other commandment that ranks with these"(Mark 12:29-31, The Message).

Stewardship is about our relationship with God and others by loving God with our whole being and loving our neighbors like we love ourselves.  By our words and behavior we show our love for God and neighbor in the way we spend our time: serving God and others through worship, study, and caring for the spiritual and physical needs of others; and by supporting our local parish financially so that together we can share the good news of God in our homes, communities, and the world.
