Christmas in JULY - Sunday, July 23, 2017 - Support FISH FOOD Pantry

1 in 5 children in Dundee Twp go to bed hungry each night.  Our community will be asking for donations to provide healthy food snacks through FISH Food Pantry.  Over 400 households each month use FISH to stretch their food dollars.  Due to cutbacks in government funding, many children in our community are not receiving summer breakfasts or lunches.  Christmas in JULY will help FISH provide healthy snack choices this summer for our community.

On August 16, 2017 we presented Mary Graziano, Director of FISH, a check for $2,657 which FISH will be able to purchase $10,628 in food from Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Words That Inspire. Deeds That Transform.

"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." — Matthew 25:40 (NRSV, extracted from our mandate 25:37-40)
Episcopal Relief & Development is an international relief and development agency and a compassionate response to human suffering on behalf of The Episcopal Church. Our work to heal a hurting world is guided by the principles of compassion, dignity and generosity.  We take our mandate from the words of Jesus, found in Matthew 25: 37-40, that call us to feed the hungry, care for the sick and welcome the stranger.
Saint James has supported the work of ER-D by participating by purchasing "Nets for Life" treated nets to help stop the spread of malaria in Africa, Hatian earthquake, Japan tsunami, and building clean water wells providing fresh water that is disease free.
