Annual Services


8 A.M. Sunday Spoken Eucharist

The 8 a.m. Eucharist is an intimate service that contains no singing. This service lasts about 45 minutes.

10 A.M. Sunday Eucharist with Music
The 10 a.m. Eucharist is a larger service, with congregational singing and organ music.  Coffee and refreshments are offered following the service. It lasts 60-75 minutes.
Nursery care is available at the 10 A.M. services.
Grow Proclaim Serve - Sunday school for Kindergarten to 5th Grade held during the 10 A.M. service.  
The children return to join us for Holy Communion.

Holy Day and National Holiday Services
Ash Wednesday -- The season of Lent begins with the traditional imposition of ashes on the forehead. Services are offered at 11 AM and service at 7 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Palm Sunday-- The day we commorate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the beginning of Holy Week.  8 and 10 AM, Sunday April 9, 2017.
Maundy Thursday -- Thursday of Holy Week is remembered for the institution of the Lord's Supper (Eucharist) and for the capture of Jesus before his death. 7 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017.
Good Friday -- Friday of Holy Week is remembered for the trial, crucifixion, and death of Jesus Christ. Stations of the Cross at 12 Noon and 7 PM Friday, April 14, 2017.
Easter Sunday -- The church gathers in joyful celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 8 and 10 AM Sunday,
April 16, 2017.
Pentecost -- We gather to commorate the gift of the Holy Spirit on the followers of Jesus Christ and the birth of the community of God, the Church.  8 and 10 AM Sunday, June 4, 2017.
Independance Day -- We gather together to ask a special blessing on our nation, and on all nations, with Eucharist and national hymns.  8 and 10 AM Sunday, July 1, 2017.
Rogation Sunday -- a special service held at Midwest Groundcovers in St. Charles, IL where we thank God for creation and bless the soil, seed, and water for all that sustains our lives.  10 AM Sunday, August 13, 2017.
Feast of Saint James -- We gather to celebrate the life of our patron saint, Saint James, the first of the apostles of Jesus to be martyred.  9 AM. Sunday, July 23.  A potluck brunch will follow service.
Anniversary Celebration and Visitation of Bishop Lee, Friday, October 6 at 7 PM -- A special service where we celebrate the founding of Saint James Parish in 1864.  During the Bishop's visit we will also celebrate the confirmation and reception of members into the Episcopal Church.  A catered meal will follow the service.
All Saints -- Eucharist is shared and space is provided to offer thanksgiving for those we love but see no longer. 8 and 10 AM, November 5.
Community Thanksgiving Eve Service -- We celebrate all the bounty that God has given us with Eucharist. TBD.
Christmas Eve -- The church comes together to celebrate the birth of the Savior of Humanity.  Join us for one of two services, Family Service at 4 PM and our Traditional carol sing 10 PM and Midnight Mass 10:30 PM Sunday, December 24, 2017
Feast of the Incarnation (Christmas Day) – 10 AM Monday, December 25, 2017
Epiphany -- The 12 days of Christmas culminate with the arrival of the Three Wise Men, and Jesus' physical manifestation to the Gentiles, on the Feast of the Epiphany. 10 AM Sunday, January 7, 2018.
